Fijian headrests are among the most refined and elegant of all the Pacific. This piece was collected in the 1980's and has coconut fiber sennit lashings on the legs. Its graceful curves make it a gracious work of art as well as a story of days gone by before pillows were introduced into the South Pacific.
Carved from ifilele wood (intsia bijuga).
Carol Kuraoka Collection 1980"s.
