An evocative and original mask, oval in shape with pointed ends. The large oval drooping eyes, outlined in white, are then dramatized by scale-like pads running up and down the face, perhaps meant to resemble crocodile skin.
This piece appears to have been in use over an extended time because some of the original peripheral holes holding the first trim have worn away. For the second trim, additional holes were made and the twisted cord and feathers were attached.
